BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Madrid (1979), adopted by Barcelona and Dubai in the past years, Ruben Sánchez is a self-taught artist with a strong, colorful graphic style that resonates through all of his projects.

Coming from the cultural worlds of graffiti and skateboarding, Sánchez learned by himself graphic design and illustration creating a background that can be found in his artworks today. New skills on wood, resins or ceramics will translate his own vision onto a large range of possibilities: from canvases or murals to reclaimed wood sculptures or underwater installations.

His artworks are limitless in possibilities and locations. They can be found all around the globe as a part of art festivals, commissions, humanitarian projects or international exhibitions but also as any kind of ‘uncommissioned’ works. 

If you dissect his work you will find the avoidance of symmetry, lack of perfect proportions and vibrant color palettes where you are challenged to depict his messages and concerns throughout characters and elements in fragile balance, but with strong interactions.

Visual balance, chain reactions and connectivity always surrounded by a Mediterranean vibe, in a journey with no destination.
