RexRomae is an urban contemporary art gallery founded in 2014 by Rom Levy. Based in London, the gallery creates pop-up exhibitions in vacant spaces across the world. It thus replicates the ephemeral ethos of urban art.
Either in the same city or in different parts of the world, the locations of RexRomae’s exhibitions are always diverse. Just as an artist would travel to create a piece, the mobile gallery opens spaces in the urban gaps, using mostly sites under construction or in a process of transition. These venues then come alive for the duration of the exhibition, a short time frame for an intense experience.
RexRomae cultivates the element of surprise, the ephemerality and the great ambitions that form the soul and future of contemporary urban art, in opposition with the traditional conception of the exhibition.
Our innovative and inventive projects are dedicated to supporting an internationally dynamic roster of artists.
